David Lee Roth talks about postponing the Van Halen Tour
First of all, Van Halen are getting along very well, is hard to believe on any Rolling Stone article you read these days. Claiming that the band “hate each other” and that they were “arguing like mad” is just another non-sense rumor made up by the magazine.
The 30+ shows of the second leg on the tour were not canceled, they were just simply postponed and they will announce later when are the new dates comming up. if you got your Van Halen ticket, and were part of the unfortunate ones that were whining about it, make sure to hold on that ticket. Van Halen is going to perform for you.
The reasons for postponing those dates are due to exhaustion of the members. They are not kids anymore, (well, Wolfie is a still a kid) and they have been working on “A Different Kind of Truth” Album, shooting the “Tattoo” video, and non-stopping touring. they deserve the break.

Michael Anthony: “THE FOOT ARE BACK” set release date for Chickenfoot’s second album
Michael Anthony is spreadin’ the news…the ‘Foot are back!
The bassist has announced the news that Chickenfoot fans have been waiting to hear: the band’s new album is set for release on September 27.
“The first single, ‘Bigfoot,’ is scheduled to hit the airwaves sometime in July,” posted Anthony.
No word yet on the sophomore album title, but Anthony says it won’t be the “Chickenfoot IV” idea Sammy Hagar was goofing around with in the press earlier this spring while promoting his autobiography,“Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock.”
Other song titles rumored to appear on the album include “Last Temptation,” “Something’s Gone Wrong,” “Dubai Blues,” “Different Devil,” “No Change,” “Who’s Next” and “Astral Years.”
Should Chickenfoot plan to tour for the new album, they’ve already said they won’t have drummer Chad Smith along for the ride, as he has returned to his duties with the Red Hot Chili Peppers as that band launches and tours a new record. A possible touring replacement for Smith has yet to be announced by the band, should it start considering dates in his absence.

Eddie Van Halen -Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, (nacido el 26 de enero de 1955 en Ámsterdam, Holanda) – es el guitarrista y pianista fundador de la banda de rock Van Halen.
Ocupó la septuagésima posición entre los mejores guitarristas en una encuesta realizada entre los suscriptores de Rolling Stone.
Los hermanos Van Halen, Eddie y Alex, nacieron en Holanda y en el año 1967 se trasladaron a California. Ahí, su padre, un músico de Jazz, de nombre Jan Van Halen, los incentivó a que fueran músicos y fueron, durante muchos años, concertistas de piano. Sin embargo al crecer fueron cautivados por el Rock lo que los llevó a aprender a tocar nuevos instrumentos. Al principio, Ed tocaba la batería y Alex la guitarra, sin embargo Eddie, aprovechando que Alex salía constantemente a fiestas, agarraba su guitarra y la tocaba desde muy temprano hasta la madrugada, Alex cuando llegaba de las fiestas, sentado al pie de su cama, tocando casi 8 horas diarias. Al ver Alex la destreza de Eddie, pasó a sentarse en la batería.
Empezaron a tocar en 1972 en reuniones familiares y en la escuela, donde Eddie parecía inspirarse por guitarristas como Allan Holdsworth, Eric Clapton,Joe Perry, Brian May y Jimmy Page.
Después conocieron a David Lee Roth, quien cantaba en The Red Balls Jet y que impuso fuerza al grupo.
En la escuela secundaria estaba Michael Anthony quien dijo: “todos en la escuela tocan guitarra o batería, así que yo tocaré el bajo”, y le quitó dos cuerdas a su guitarra. Estos cuatro personajes formaron Mammoth en 1973 y se cambiaron el nombre a Van Halen, desechando la idea de Rat Salad, en 1974.
Eddie utiliza guitarras de muchas marcas distintas como Gibson, Fender, Kramer o Steinberger, aunque es un gran fanático de la personalización de sus guitarras. En los últimos años utilizó un modelo que Peavey fabricaba para él (la famosa Peavey Wolfgang), en 2005 la marca Charvel, hizo una serie que imita las guitarras de Eddie de los años 80, En 2007 sale a la venta una replica de la guitarra Frankenstrat con la marca EVH Gear fabricada por Fender. Actualmente, dicha marca ha fabricado diferentes productos; tales como el 5150 III, zapatillas con el característico trabajo artístico de Eddie, y la ya mencionada Wolfgang. También, la replica exacta de la Frankestrat ya mencionada con un valor de US$ 25000.
Además, contribuyó enormemente al desarrollo del sistema Floyd Rose para la afinación de la guitarra, e incluso patentó su propio dispositivo llamado “D-tuner”, que permite afinar la 6ta cuerda de la guitarra E(MI) a D(RE) y viceversa en un solo movimiento.

Van Halen regresó al estudio de grabaciones para trabajar en su nuevo material, el primero en 26 años, donde están acompañados por su vocalista original David Lee Roth, según dio a conocer el productor John Shanks a través de su cuenta en Twitter.
Shanks, quien además de estar trabajando con Van Halen recientemente trabajó con Take That y Bon Jovi, publicó una imagen del amplificador de Eddie Van Halen y el mensaje: “Aquí vamos niños… VH”.
David Lee Roth salió de Van Halen en 1985, y en su lugar entró Sammy Hagar, quien permaneció hasta 1996 y posteriormente, en 2004 hizo una aparición para un disco de éxitos. Hasta el momento no se tiene más detalles al respecto, pero se espera que el disco esté listo este año.
