Foo Fighters and Joan Jett on Letterman TONIGHT!

Upset that you missed out on seeing the Foo Fighters join Joan Jett at Madison Square Garden for a surprise rendition of her song ‘Bad Reputation’ over the weekend? Not to worry — David Letterman has you covered.

Jett will reunite with the Foos on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ tonight to deliver a ‘Bad Reputation’ encore. It’s admittedly not quite the same as seeing the original event unfold onstage at the Garden, but if you’re a fan of either act, you won’t want to miss this.

Check your local listings for tonight’s performance on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’!

Foo Fighters Concert Review: Dave Grohl is the best frontman of rock and roll. Philadelphia 11/10/11

Get a little bit of Robert Plant, with some of the audience control of Freddie Mercury and you have Dave Grohl’s performance on stage. (not saying his voice is as the others mentioned).

Foo Fighters putted on a mind blowing show and an experience that I recommend to anyone who has the oportunity of seeing the band live. Foo’s live performance of Old School Rock and Roll in its most simple and purest way.

I’ve never seen so much energy from one person in my entire life, for over two hours he played guitar, sang, shouted, ran, jumped, and never stopped moving during his show.

The show opened their doors at 6 PM after a freezing wait in the GA line on a cold Phillie day.

7 PM light out, The Joy Formidable got into the stage, the trio made a great 30 minutes show, for me it was absolutely new, i had never heard them before and now I wanna get their record! the energy of Ritzy Brian (Guitar/lead singer) reminded me of a Courtney Love kind of show. cool thing to see before the foos.

The second band got the stage 7:45 and started a one hour show. they need no introduction. Social Distortion, the old american punk band performed some of their classic songs such as Bad Luck, Story of my life, Dont drag me down, and finished with Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire, which made the audience sang their hearts out.

The lights went on again and later went out again! here comes the Foo Fighters!

The band introduced the concert with a set of wasting light! Bridge Burning and Rope, followed by The Pretender and Foo’s Classic My Hero. Grohl said early in the show: “We don’t do one of those little rock shows that last an hour and 45 minutes. We don’t do one of those little rock shows that last two hours; not that shit, either. Basically, we play till we want to fucking puke. Is that OK with you?”

the band continued playing all of their hits and the songs you expect to hear in a foo fighters concert! there was a lot of talking between Dave and the audience.

The band took a break after 2 hours of headbanging, jumping, runing, singing and screaming! During the break the stage screens showed a backstage camera where Dave Grohl discussed with the audience how many songs are they going to play on the encore. 2 more songs?? NOOOOO ok 3? MAKE IT 4!!! and Taylor Hawkins did 6 with the fingers! the audience really enjoyed that moment.

the encore began when Grohl emerged on the raised platform at the back of the arena for a solo acoustic set. “For the last two hours, you’ve had the (crappy) seats,” Grohl said to the fans in the back of the arena. “Guess who has the (crappy seats) now?”

He opened his solo set with “Wheels,” a song that he said was huge in Germany. During the song he made a deal with the crowd — if they sang loud enough on the chorus, the band would play the Electric Factory during their next visit to Philadelphia. The crowd passed the test. “See you at the Fucking Electric Factory,” Grohl promised.

The solo set continued with “Best of You,” and then Grohl began strumming the Beatles’ “Blackbird,” before stopping and admitting: “This fucking shit is hard. That’s why Paul McCartney is Paul McCartney. Rule No. 1: never do a song that’s better than any of your own songs.” Nevertheless, Grohl effectively played the first verse of the song.

He then began “Times Like These” acoustically before rejoining the rest of the band on stage, finishing the song with a full-on rock version. The rest of the encore included “Dear Rosemary” and Tom Petty’s “Breakdown,” both with Mould, and a show-closing “Everlong.”

the 24 song show was a night ill remember all my life. Foo Fighters is definitely a Band you have to see performing live. Is the Best Modern Rock Band and anybody who tries to argue with me about that they will lose the debate.

Lollapalooza 2011 highlights (Videos)

The 20th annual Lollapalooza music festival held in Chicago ended day three with a downpour soaking attendees and a memorable performance by the Foo Fighters.

While weather held up for the first two days, the last day of the festival resembled a modern-day Woodstock, with Chicago’s Grant Park turned into a massive mud slide as an estimated 90,000 concert goers were caked in filth from a heavy rainstorm.

Over 140 musical acts graced the 8 stages at the 20th anniversary of Lollapalooza, including Eminem, Coldplay, Muse, Cee Lo Green and Deadmau5, to name a few. Foo Fighters closed the show during a rainstorm playing tracks from their new album Wasting Light along with older hits.

Founded in 1991 by Perry Farrell, frontman of the alternative rock group Jane’s Addiction, the sold-out Lollapalooza 2011 had a record number of attendees, estimated at 270,000. The event has since expanded to Chile and will launch its first show in Brazil next year, with more expansion in the future.

Watch Foo Fighters Garage Tour in Full

Foo Fighters have posted a 40-minute documentary about their recent tour of fans’ garages. Dave Grohl and Co.’s tour was part of promoting their recent, chart-topping album Wasting Light.

The Foos petitioned for fans to host the band in their garages and, in April, they played to the competition’s winners and their friends. From New York to Seattle, they played new and old tracks. It’s one hell of a garage jam.

And now you can see it online. Enjoy Foo Fighters’ Garage Tour below.

Dave Grohl kicks out a fan on Foo Fighters Gig (video)

When trouble kicked off in front of the stage at a Foo Fighters gig in London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday (July 12) Dave Grohl soon put a stop to it.

Halting the show he shouted at the man, pointing him out to security:

“You don’t fucking fight at my show you asshole. Let me see him, who’s fighting right now? It’s that guy in the striped shirt. Hey motherfucker look at me, get the fuck out of my show right now.”

As the man was seemingly led from the theatre, the crowd applauded and cheered as Grohl had the last word:

“I don’t put up with that bullshit – you people came here to have a good time and that guy can fuck off”.

Foo Fighters joined by Alice Cooper, Queen’s Roger Taylor at Milton Keynes gig

Foo Fighters were joined onstage by a succession of rock legends at their gig at Milton Keynes Bowl last night (July 2).

Dave Grohl‘s band invited Alice Cooper, Bob Mould and Queen drummer Roger Taylor onstage to perform with them at various points during the stadium show.

Roger Taylor was first to appear for ‘Cold Day In The Sun’, which saw him take over drumming duties while usual sticksmanTaylor Hawkins sang lead vocals.

Later Husker Du man Bob Mould guested on ‘Dear Rosemary’, the song he contributed to on the band’s latest album‘Wasting Light’.

Introducing Mould onstage, Grohl paid tribute to his influence on the band.

“The good thing about this record is that I got to make a song with a person that I can truly call my hero, the person who is responsible for the Foo Fighters,” the singer said.

Meanwhile, Alice Cooper appeared onstage during the encore to sing on covers of two of his hits – 1972’s ‘School’s Out’ and 1970’s ‘I’m Eighteen’.

“If it wasn’t for this next person, Pat Smear would never have bought a guitar in his life,”Grohl told the crowd as he introduced the rock legend. “Say hello to one of our heroes – Mr Alice fucking Cooper!”

The gig saw Foo Fighters play a career-spanning set, including tracks from as far back as their 1997 sophomore album ‘The Colour And The Shape’, such as ‘Monkey Wrench’ and set-closer ‘Everlong’.

El grupo interpretó cuatro temas nuevos: Back + Forth, White Limo, Dear Rosemary y These days.
