Pearl Jam’s cover of Mother Love Bone’s “Crown Of Thorns” is now streaming online.
“Crown of Thorns,” the first track to be released from the upcoming Pearl Jam Twenty soundtrack, was recorded live at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on 10/22/2000.
Excerpted from PJ20 CD Booklet: Cameron Crowe: “I asked Vedder about Andrew Wood, the late singer-songwriter of Mother Love Bone, whose passing left the place that Vedder would later fill. Though Vedder chose not to name the song, he did say there was one Wood composition he would be honored to sing ‘one day.’ He declined to say more.”

The official trailer has been introduced for Cameron Crowe’s PJ20 documentary, chronicling the rise, trials and tribulations of persevering Seattle quintet Pearl Jam – from an insider’s perspective.

The trailer appeared on the PJ20 website, along with a montage of photos featuring the band in both prominent imagery and behind-the-scenes shots. For longtime fans, there’s a goosebump-inducing level of intimacy portrayed in the trailer alone, showcasing the rare occurrence of the band speaking openly about their struggles and unlikely survival, as well as many candid & unguarded moments, under the tune of the semiautobiographical soul-soarer Given To Fly.
“20 years of rare and unseen footage” doesn’t sound like a gimmick this time. PJ maniacs are no doubt giddy with excitement for not only the film, but for the upcoming PJ20 fest, a weekend-getaway culmination of the band’s 20th anniversary celebration featuring quite a few good friends.

Pearl Jam se prepara para nuevo álbum
Luego de que Eddie Vedder diera a conocer un adelanto de su disco como solista, Pearl Jam anunció que también planea un nuevo material. Al parecer la banda entrará al estudio de grabaciones el próximo mes de abril, según declaró Jeff Ament a Billboard.
“Hicimos un montón de demos y todos tienen un disco de 25 canciones. Abril será el momento que tendremos juntos y aprenderemos a tocar todos estos demos y averiguaremos cuáles entre 12 y 15 de ellos logran salir a la superficie,” dijo Ament. “Ojalá logremos hacer algo este año.”
Pearl Jam lanzará reediciones de los discos ‘Vs’ y ‘Vitalogy’
Para seguir con las celebraciones por sus 20 años de trayectoria musical, el próximo 29 de marzo saldrá a la venta la reedición de lujo del Vs., de 1993, y delVitalogy, que fuera editado en 1994, ambos con ediciones extendidas que se venderán por separado o bien, como parte de un box set de colección.
“Cuando lanzamos el box con los diez discos teníamos suficiente contenido para justificar el costo de la caja,” comentó el manager de Pearl Jam, Kelly Curtis. “No tuvimos suficiente contenido en esta ocasión, así que pusimos los dos discos juntos. Ahí está el valor para los fans,” explicó.
El Vs incluirá versiones remasterizadas del tracklist original, así como una versión inédita en acústico de “Hold On”, un cover a Victoria Williams de “Crazy Mary”, así como el tema “Cready Stomp.”
Por su parte, la nueva versión del Vitalogy incluirá un mix en guitarra y órgano de “Betterman”, una versión alterna de “Corduroy”, un demo inédito de “Nothingman” con Richard Stuverud en la batería.
