Queen: Live at Wembley Stadium 25th Anniversary, will present both the July 11 and 12 concerts
The 25th anniversary of Queen’s two-night stand at Wembley Stadium in 1986 is being celebrated in a new DVD release. The two-disc set, Queen: Live at Wembley Stadium, will present both the July 11 and 12 concerts in their entirety, for the first time, according to BraveWords.com.
The shows feature some of the rock legends’ biggest hits, with Freddie Mercury leading the boys through “We Will Rock You,” “We are the Champions,” “Under Pressure” and “Another One Bites the Dust.” Both the video and audio have been restored for the new edition, which features a new 5.1 mix. The set also includes a behind-the-scenes featurette that includes new interviews with Brian May and Roger Taylor discussing the concerts.
“The Wembley concerts in 1986 were the pinnacle for us,” May said in a press release. “We were at our height band-wise, and Freddie had developed this phenomenal way of dealing with stadium audiences. Being back home in London playing two sell-out nights was such a big, big occasion for us. None of us realized that this would be almost the last time we played together…”
Queen: Live at Wembley Stadium will be released on September 5, which would have been Mercury’s 65th birthday
